Fon Phrae Wa Kalasin" is a performance created in 1991 by the faculty of the Department of Dramatic Arts and Music at the Kalasin College of Dramatic Arts to commemorate the 60th birthday anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit The Queen Mother. The performance is inspired by "Phrae Wa silk," a unique traditional woven textile of the Phu Thai people from Ban Phon, Kham Muang District, Kalasin Province. This textile has gained widespread popularity through the promotion of The SUPPORT Foundation of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, The Queen Mother. The choreography is creatively adapted from the traditional movements and processes of weaving Phrae Wa silk.
